Refurbishment Works

I am pleased to say that over the half-term break works will begin to refurbish the caretaker鈥檚 house, situated within our boundary on Cheapside West.听 This work will see the house converted into a bespoke Alternative Provision for some of our pupils who struggle to access mainstream education.听 It will provide a dedicated space for them to work in small groups on an appropriate curriculum and will provide them with the specialist support and guidance they need. The aim of the provision is to help them to reintegrate back into the main school over a period of time.

Meal Deal

As I am sure you are all too well aware, inflation is a pressure an all areas of life. Regretfully, this means that our catering contractor鈥檚 costs have risen.听 Unfortunately, we are not in a position to absorb these costs.听 Therefore, from 1st January 2024 the 鈥淢eal Deal鈥 price will increase to 拢2.65.听 The cost of some individual items will also rise.听 As always, the healthier items available will have little or no increase, with the less healthy items attracting the higher increases.听 The Meal Deal continues to offer the best value for money and is always nutritionally balanced.听 If you do think you might be eligible for Free School Meals, please click to access further details and an application form.

School Nurse

Our School Nurse, Lily, is in school every Tuesday morning from 9am 鈥 12 pm and is based in our Wellbeing Room, next to Pupil Services.听 Lily can provide support for a range of needs, including emotional wellbeing, physical health, sexual health, behaviour and SEND.听 Lily can also signpost pupils to external agencies as required.

For pupils under the age of 13, parental consent is required, but pupils over 13 years do not need to make an appointment and can pop in to see Lily as required, with the permission of their Head of Year.听 If your child is under 13 and you would like to make an appointment for them to speak to Lily, please email their Head of Year.

Trip to Ch芒teau de la Baudonni猫re

Last Sunday, 27 Year 11 pupils, Mr Woolnough, Mrs Dickens & Mrs Mauz headed to Ch芒teau de la Baudonni猫re in Normandy, France to immerse themselves in French life & culture. Whilst听 there, they enjoyed a variety of different activities, whilst practising their French languages skills.听 This included making bread, archery, a mud run, helping out on the onsite farm, playing sports and even taking part in a French night, where they got the chance to dress up as a typical French person! 听They also enjoyed a number of excursions, to the local market in Villedieu, the landing beaches in Arromanches and they even saw the Bayeux Tapestry!

We were incredibly proud of all the pupils who conducted themselves with respect and maturity while making the most of this fantastic experience.
